Wednesday, August 11, 4:00 pm – Making the Most of Bumper Crops

Highfield Hall, 56 Highfield Drive in Falmouth, has arranged for Gwenn Friss, Food Editor of the Cape Cod Times, to speak on Wednesday, August 11, beginning at 4 pm.  Ms. Friss, well-known food editor of the regional newspaper, is a longtime home cook who has had the privilege of interviewing scores of chefs and cookbook authors.  She’ll share her tips, and some of theirs, to help you use all your garden’s bounty and enjoy every bit of food from farmers’ markets.  A longtime journalist, Gwenn was part of a team that won an environmental award last year for the Cape Cod Times series about growing and cooking your own food, as well as benefiting from the nutrition it provides.  She will inspire you and offer concrete ideas to avoid wasting food, including some recipes for you to take home.  $5 suggested donation.
