Join the Culinary Guild of New England’s fun Culinary Book Club. What better reading is there than books with a culinary theme? And, how delightful to have fellow foodies gathered for a discussion! The Guild Book Club is ready to kick off its next season. The club meets every 8 weeks on Thursday nights from 7:30 to 9 pm at a member’s home. The schedule for the year continues with meetings on January 13, March 10, and May 12, 2011.
On Thursday, November 18, the Book Club will discuss Food Heroes: 16 Culinary Artisans Preserving Tradition by Georgia Pellegrini. The author profiles 16 people who have devoted their lives to culinary pursuits. Included are a college guidance counselor who took over a smoked-ham business in Tennessee and a Norwegian land mine engineer who decided to raise bees.
Admission to the Book Club is free, but it does require an RSVP. If you are planning to attend please send an email to Frances Srulowitz or Jane Kelly. They will respond with directions to the location of the Book Club meeting for attendees.
